Mother's Wax Museum to screen films, starting from KIFF 2018

Kolkata: Mother's Wax Museum will join the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which is scheduled to be inaugurated on November 11, when films will be screened here for the first time.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had opened the Mother's Wax Museum from the stage of KIFF in 2014.

Now, screening of movies will be held at the museum for free. At Nazrul Tirtha, films will be screened in all the three halls during KIFF. Documentary films are shown regularly at Nazrul Tirtha for free.

After KIFF, children's festival will be held at Rabindra Tirtha. Obeying the order of the state Information and Cultural Affairs department, Bengali movies are now being screened during prime time slots, in a bid to boost Bengali cinema.

New Town is coming up as a major cultural hub of the city. People from New Town, Salt Lake and its neighbourhood attend various cultural shows that are being held regularly in New Town. The screening of documentary films at Nazrul Tirtha has become very popular among the people.

Meanwhile, the footfall at the 'seven wonders' in Eco Park has crossed 10 lakh in 11 months. The miniature replicas of the seven wonders of the world have been built meticulously.
