Gururgam: The Gurugram police is still investigating the case of what can probably be considered as one of the biggest heists this year where robbers successfully robbed jewellery worth crores of rupees from a PC Jewellers showroom. Situated near the Old Delhi road, a group of robbers who have still been unidentified struck the prominent jewellery showroom late Sunday night.

In a robbery that can give even a climax in a Hollywood movie a run for its money, the robbers executed the plan in a well-planned manner. The showroom which is busy twenty-four hours a day, the robbers first reached the top of the balcony through the backdoor entry. They then successfully entered inside the showroom by cutting the locks of the door. In a robbery that has befuddled the cops as well as the management, the law enforcement officials are now trying to find out the role of the insider who would have helped the robbers in carrying out the heist.

Meanwhile, no one is coming clear of how much amount have the robbers stolen. While official sources claim that the total amount stolen may be amounting to Rs 35 crores, there is fear the amount may exceed even more than that. Two days after the incident, the police are still trying to get hold of the robbers.

A special investigating team has been formed to investigate the matter. The police as of now are relying on the CCTV images and the fingerprints that have been obtained from the spot. The police are also trying to question various insiders to find out whether any of the people are involved in aiding the robbers. "The police have been able to get certain leads in the matter and we are sure that it will help us in getting hold of the criminals. Understanding the huge assets that have been stolen we are exercising a bit of discretion in disclosing the amount," said a senior police official from Gurugram police.

The management of the PC jewellers at present has refrained from giving a statement on the matter by highlighting that the matter is under investigation.
