AHSI’s four-day House Plant Show 2015 begins in city

A four-day ‘House Plant Show-2015’ was inaugurated here on Thursday showcasing altogether 2,296 samples presented by 56 participants.

The Agri-Horticultural Society of India (AHSI) organised the show jointly with the Department of Food Processing Industries and Horticulture, Government of West Bengal and in collaboration with National Horticulture Board.

Inaugurating the ‘House Plant show 2015’, The National Library Director General Arun Kumar Chakraborty said, “This is a promotional event aimed at mainly popularizing growing of House Plants as open space in cities is dwindling.” Speaking on the occasion, the AHSI President N G Khaitan said, “The House Plant show is being organised to create a common roof for all the vendors, growers and customers and also to create awareness about the importance of herbal and medicinal plants.”
