Accused behind kidnapping, murder of Class X boy arrested

Delhi Police arrested the main accused behind the kidnapping-cum-gruesome murder of a Class X boy at North-east Delhi’s Khajoori Khas area. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Varun Soni.

Investigators said that Soni had taken Rs 3,000 from the victim, Danish. When Danish asked him to return the money, Soni hatched a plan to kill him.

On October 27, Danish’s elder brother,Javed, got a call from Danish’s mobile number where in the caller said that he has kidnapped Danish and demanded Rs 50,000 for safe release of Danish. Based on which, Javed approached the police and investigation was initiated.

However, on the morning of October 28, body of Danish was found lying 300 metres away from his house. Police were informed and Danish was taken to nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Based on technical surveillance, police tracked Soni and arrested him. During sustained interrogation, he confessed to killing Danish with a wooden plank. He disclosed that after he made the ransom call, he got to know that Javed had approached police.

“So he hid Danish’s body on his terrace for a whole day and on morning of October 28, he flung it down his terrace. Moreover, the accused revealed that to avoid suspicion, he went with Javed to the police station,” said a senior police official.
