AAP, TMC to stage demonstrations against Niti Aayog recommendation

AAP and Trinamool Congress will jointly stage demonstration in Delhi, Somnath Bharti, law minister of AAP government told newsmen in Nabanna on Monday.

He further said that AAP would support Mamata Banerjee’s move to set up a non Congress, non BJP front. It may be recalled that Arvind Kejriwal has very good terms with Banerjee and the former had attended the Bengal Global Business Summit held early this year and the swearing ceremony of Mamata Banerjee on May 27. Banerjee during her visit to Delhi had met Kejriwal and discussed different issues that interest the two states.

A 10 member AAP team led by Bharti on Monday visited the state Assembly and later went to Nabanna where a 30 minute meeting was held between Banerjee and Bharti.

Later, talking to newsmen after the meeting Bharti said it would not be possible to follow the recommendation of Niti Aayog as they would hit the federal structure of the country very badly.
He said Banerjee had rightly pointed out the issue and in this matter she would get full support of
AAP. “No one can change the federal structure of the state without amending the Indian Constitution.
But despite that, the Centre is unnecessarily trying to establish its control over the states. AAP and Trinamool will launch movement jointly against this,” he said.
