AAP takes on opposition via radio ads

In a bid to gain political mileage ahead of the assembly elections in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party is taking a jibe at opposition parties over how the legislators of other parties are using MLA funds.

AAP has launched a scathing attack on opposition parties via radio advertisements. In the ads, the party also targetted the Centre for curtailing the powers of Delhi’s anti-corruption branch (ACB).

In its recorded messages, which air on radio channels, Kejriwal is heard telling how his party’s legislators are using MLA funds by taking suggestions from the public. He informs, ‘All our MLAs are holding the Mohalla Sabhas at their respective assemblies to discuss how the fund should be spent.’

He further adds that the payment to the contractor for the work done, will be made after receiving the feedback from the public.

‘This is only done by AAP MLAs. The BJP and Congress MLAs should be asked as to how they are spending their funds’, says Kejriwal during the radio advertisement.

In another message, the former chief minister of Delhi slammed the BJP for curtailing the powers of Delhi’s ACB. He said the ruling BJP’s move completely contradicted the claims made by the party during the campaigns for the general election.

‘The BJP-led central government reduced the powers of the ACB and now, it cannot take action against corrupt officials of Delhi Police, municipal corporations of Delhi and Delhi Development Authority (DDA)’, says the AAP leader. He further added that during the 49 days of AAP government, corruption was under control.
