'A mother first hugs dead child'

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may have been was shy in its closure report submitted in the special court of CBI in Ghaziabad, but its prosecutor got explicit when he was countering Nupur Talwar's arguments. Even emotional appeal was refuted by equally strong psychological arguments.

'On seeing her only child dead, a mother will hug her several times and weep inconsolably. In this case, the blood of deceased teenager Aarushi Talwar was spread on the bedsheet and her throat was slit. But the clothes of Nupur and Rajesh Talwar, which they had worn on that fateful morning did not have any blood spot and were wrinkle free,' argued R K Saini, CBI's counsel, during the hearing, which the judge has mentioned in his six-page order. Saini was mentioning this to counter an emotional appeal of Nupur Talwar that 'a mother can't kill her child'.

The counsels of Nupur Talwar had requested the court to acquit their client as she is the mother of the deceased girl. 'A mother keeps her child nine months in womb. Talwars were dotting parents so could not be held liable for the murder of their own daughter,' submitted Satya Ketu, a counsel of Nupur Talwar. Talwar's advocates also summoned Hindu mythology of trinity, where there exists three separate gods for creation, preserverance and destruction, and hence a creator can't be destructor.

The judge also relied on the arguments of CBI that it's impossible to believe that in a house of four two were murdered, but the remaining two were not aware of the incident.
