32-yr-old man shot by unidentified assailants at toll plaza in Gurgaon

A man sitting inside a cab was shot at by two unidentified persons at Dhankot toll plaza in Gurgaon-Farooqnagar road on Sunday night.

The victim, identified as Gajendra Singh (32), was rushed to a hospital by the cab driver, who later called up the police. Gajendra was admitted in the hospital with a bullet in his jaw, but his condition was reported to be stable by Monday evening.

Police is now going through the CCTV footage obtained from the toll plaza, however, the assailants haven’t been identified yet. A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC, said a police official. According to police, Gajendra was sitting in a cab (a white Tata Indigo car) which had halted at the Dhankot toll plaza. Suddenly, a white Maruti Swift stopped behind the cab, two man from the car and shot at Gajendra. The accused fled the scene within a minute.

“Prima facie, it looks like a case of road rage. The occupants in the Indigo cab and the Swift car might have been involved in an altercation on the road”, said a police official.
